Today, we’re so excited to share something that’s been lighting up our hearts lately. We’ve been on this journey to connect more deeply with nature, tuning in to the signs around us and soaking up the wisdom our ancestors always carried.
While wandering down this path, we came across Sacred Plant Medicine by Stephen Harrod Buhner. Oh, this book, it’s like a warm hug! It shares how Indigenous communities have this incredible gift of chatting and working with nature. It’s not just about words; it’s a soul-deep connection, a language that sometimes feels bigger than our everyday minds can grasp.
Shamans and healers talk about how plants can show up in dreams as animals, carrying messages to guide us. And that’s where our story takes flight!
A few weeks ago, we had this super vivid dream with an eagle and a bear. At first, we just thought, “Cool dream!” But now, thanks to Harrod’s nudge, we’re starting to wonder if these animals are here to walk with us, to show us something special.
So, we’ve been diving into what they mean, and who knows, maybe more critters will join the adventure! For now, let’s kick things off with:
The Eagle
In so many cultures, this majestic bird is all about inner strength and seeing things clearly. It’s like having a wise pal who helps you zoom out, look at life from a higher view, and heal by learning from the tough stuff. The eagle’s got your back, teaching you to be patient, let go of what’s dragging you down, and find that quiet peace inside. Plus, it’s a reminder that joy can sparkle even on the hardest days.
When an eagle shows up, whether you spot one gliding across the sky, in a dream, or during a meditation, it’s like a little wink from the universe. It’s a sign that healing’s happening, that there’s a divine energy right there with you, cheering you on to face challenges and feel freer.
Here in Canada, Indigenous cultures hold the eagle so close to their hearts. They see it as sacred, a messenger that carries prayers to the Creator, soaring so high it’s practically dancing with the stars. It stands for wisdom, courage, and love, gently guiding us to grow spiritually and tap into our inner fire.
As we dug deeper, we learned the eagle is part of the Seven Sacred Teachings for many First Nations communities, beautiful values like respect, harmony, and balance that light up the path to a good life. (Don’t worry, we’ll save that deep dive for another post!)
At its core, the eagle’s here to nudge us to let go of what’s heavy, to see with clear eyes, and to lean into our own strength. Its soaring wings remind us that healing and freedom are always within our reach.
By the way, what animals have been showing up in your dreams or life lately? Drop us a comment, we’d love to hear!
